Day 21-Sunday 25th July 2010

So, it's day 21-already!
Yesterday went to the local nursery school in Ambedgar Nagar to help do a worksop with some of the teachers. They were really sweet and even gave me a notebook with my name and a little message and a purple pen. Some were also wearing the most amazing saris, one in purple and pink-may well have to ask where she bought it from!
Walking through the area I encountered my first aggressive dog that barked at me. I did not turn around but certainly felt it behind me. I was a little concerned as to how it may react if I did! Most of the local people though were very friendly and just greet you with a nod or maybe a smile, most of them stare at you but I guess that is to be expected.
I discovered a lot about the teachers' lives. Most are married apart from one one and she looks after her sister's children, I think there are two of them, I am sure she cannot be much older than 20. Another lady lives in a house with ten other family members and another lady has five children, two are teenagers and then another lady has a daughter who has just got married, she is seventeen.
I will continue this later but need to go shopping now....
So we went to the supermarket-not one of my favorite activities when its busy I have to say. Then we went to Staples which yes they do have here and ended up buying a globe because we are always looking at where countries are and I wanted to know if Bangalore is in the southern hemisphere and it is! Yes I could have googled it but its nice to look and when people talk about where they come from or where they have been I like to know exactly where these places are.
So waiting outside staples and along come a police truck that loads six motorbikes onto the back of it! Comedy moment, well for me rather than the owners! Soooo wish I had had my camera because I cannot do the incident justice in words!
That's all for today I think. Not sure when I will write again as MT working at home tomorrow and usually I use his computer!.
